IN 1961 fourteen members of the Cleveland community had a vision, a fire department for the growing community. Donations from throughout the community CVFD was formed. With the purchase of a 1961 American Lafrance pumper things were underway. A two bay station at the intersection of Matthews and Cleveland Road served as home to the CVFD for nearly 40 years. In 2001 the new station was built on the adjacent property which serves as home to the CVFD.
